Extended Hours

The Ransome Practice offer extended surgeries on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays with members of our clinical staff at the following times:

  • Wednesdays from 7am-8am at our Bentley surgery (GP and nurse appointments available) and 6:30-8pm via telephone (GP appointments)
  • Thursdays from 6pm-8pm at our Bentley surgery (GP appointments available)
  • Fridays from 7am-8am at our Woodside surgery (nurse appointments available)
  • MSK physio clinics run at our Bentley surgery on selected Saturdays from 9am-5pm

Practice Closures 2025

The Ransome Practice will be closed for bank holidays on the following dates:

  • Wednesday 1st January 2025 - New Year's Day
  • Friday 18th April 2025 - Good Friday
  • Monday 21st April 2025 - Easter Monday
  • Monday 5th May 2025 - Early May Bank Holiday
  • Monday 25th August 2025 - Summer Bank Holiday
  • Thursday 25th December 2025 - Christmas Day
  • Friday 26th December 2025 - Boxing Day

 

We will also be closed from 12 noon for NHS-wide training days on the following dates:

When We Are Closed

Out of Hours calls are covered by NHS 111.

When your GP practice is closed and you need healthcare advice you can contact the NHS 111 service by phone or online (111 or www.nhs.uk/111) where you will be advised of the most appropriate service for your needs. Calls are FREE from landlines and mobiles. NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

For emergencies such as chest pains/loss of blood or broken bones - 999 should be called.

111 online is a fast and convenient alternative to the 111 phone service and provides an option for people who want to access 111 digitally. 

Your needs will be assessed and you will be given advice about whether you need:

  • Treat yourself at home
  • Go to a Primary Care Centre

If you need face to face medical attention you may be asked to attend a Primary Care Centre.
